Vinita Chandra Mody

Vinita Chandra Mody is the founder of Stroma Physical Therapy and the innovator behind Ischemic Conditioning Techniques™ (ICT) by Stroma. With nearly two decades of clinical experience in New York City, she is recognized for integrating Eastern and Western therapeutic philosophies to help patients achieve comprehensive, sustainable well-being.

Vinita holds advanced certifications—including Pilates Polestar Rehabilitation, Active Release Techniques, and the Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) from Herman & Wallace—allowing her to combine sophisticated manual skills, scientific rigor, and a passion for education. Her clinical expertise spans sports rehabilitation, pediatrics, and pelvic health, and her TEDx talk highlights the development and impact of her patented full-body modality, ICT.

A leader in pelvic floor therapy, Vinita developed the Pelvic Visual Analog Scale (P-VAS), a screening tool designed to help fitness and wellness professionals incorporate pelvic floor considerations into their training programs. She also serves as a Master Clinician for NYU’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program, sits on the advisory board of the HSS Rehab Network, and contributes to the APTA New York Chapter through the Leadership Committee, Political Action Committee while also serving as a New York State Delegate. Her work has been featured in Glamour Magazine and she is frequently sought after as an expert for NBC Digital.

Vinita earned her BSc in Kinesiology from McMaster University and her MSc.PT from Queen’s University in Canada.
